European project for development of single line intended for children - 119

The National Authority for the Protection of Children's Rights and Adoption and the Special Telecommunications Service are developing a project to modernize the single national number 119 for reporting cases of abuse, neglect, exploitation and any other form of violence against children, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.

 

The quoted source mentions that the National Authority for the Protection of Children's Rights and Adoption (ANPDCA) and the Special Telecommunications Service (STS) are partners in a project, with a total value of 66,874,370.41 RON, financed from European funds for development of the single national line intended for children - 119.

 

The "Next Generation 119 System" project involves the development and modernization of digital tools for alerting, identification and intervention for children, associated with the unique national number 119, a number intended for reporting cases of abuse, neglect, exploitation and any other form of violence against children.

 

The project is implemented between September 2024 and February 2027 and is co-financed by the European Union, through the Smart Growth, Digitization and Financial Instruments Program 2021-2027, P2. Digitization in the central public administration and the business environment.

 

The Next Generation 119 system will be developed using safe and new-generation IT&C solutions, and at the same time, STS engineers and specialists will implement modern functionalities that allow efficient case management, their analysis in order to improve the quality of calls, assisting operators with advanced technologies, coherent data structuring, improving flows and quickly providing the support that children need.

 

In the two and a half years of implementation, the project aims to expand the facilities offered by the 119 service by developing new applications and platforms necessary to ensure assistance for children who are victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation and any other form of violence, providing applications and programs support for the specialists involved in the management of the single number 119, as well as the provision of training sessions for employees from institutions in the field of child protection, the press release reads.
