Former Prime Minister Dacian Colos says it was a difficult decision he has made to run in the elections to the European Parliament this year, after he realized that 'we must try to come out of this toxic fog some are layout out over the country."
He underscored that "It is essential for Romania to be represented in the European Parliament by competent people, who would fight for the good of all Romanians - both for those who continue to live at home and for those in the diaspora."
"To be a MEP doesn't mean to leave your country. On the contrary! And my plan is to start rebuilding Romania. My intention is to work for my country and I will do it both from home and from the European Parliament. (...) We need to rely on everything that we have to offer, starting with the first electoral test - the elections to the European Parliament. That's why I decided to submit my candidacy file through the internal procedure of PLUS. I want this to be very clear: my project is Romania. Otherwise, I wouldn't have needed to initiate a political project here and I would have been long gone to Brussels or somewhere else. I have initiated PLUS to work in Romania and for Romania. And my candidacy to the European Parliament perfectly fits this logic," Dacian Ciolos also wrote.
