Fed Cup/Segarceanu: Not easy decision but we will start first day with Mihaela

The non-playing captain of the Romanian women's tennis team, Florin Segarceanu admitted that he had to make a tough decision to set up the second racket for the single's matches, but he counted on Mihaela Buzarnescu because of her shape in the last weeks and in the training sessions in Rouen.

Mihaela Buzarnescu (WTA No. 30) will meet Caroline Garcia (WTA No. 21) in the second single's match, on Saturday, in the Fed Cup, Romania - France, in Kindarena.

Between 1,000 and 2,000 Romanians are expected at the Kindarena Palace of Sports to encourage and support Romania's team in its attempt to qualify for the first time in the Fed Cup final.

Romania and France will meet on 20 and 21 April, Rouen, Kindarena, on clay, in the Fed Cup semifinals. The team of France consists of Alize Cornet, Caroline Garcia, Pauline Parmentier, Kristina Mladenovic and Fiona Ferro, and Romania's team is made up of Simona Halep, Mihaela Buzarnescu, Irina Begu, Monica Niculescu and Raluca Olaru.

In the quarterfinals of the World Cup of the Fed Cup, Romania defeated the Czech Republic 3-2 by the points scored by Simona Halep, the winner in both single's matches and Irina Begu/Monica Niculescu, while France defeated Belgium 3-1.

Romania is facing France for the second time in the Fed Cup. The first match was played in 1976 when Romanians Virginia Ruzici and Florenta Mihai won 3-0 in the final of the consolation tournament of the competition hosted by Philadelphia (USA).
