The financial leasing industry recorded a 14% increase in the financed assets in the first nine months of this year, 7.627 billion lei (1.7 billion euros) respectively, said on Tuesday Bogdan Speteanu, President of the Association of Financial Companies - ALB Romania.
"The positive news is that the upward trend we have seen in recent years has continued, and if we look at the year-on-year trend, September 2016 - September 2017, we see a 14% increase that confirms the positive trends that we assumed last year," Bogdan Speteanu said.
He said it is possible for 2.2 billion euros to be reached by year's end, if there are no surprises in the last quarter of the year.
The growth of the industry was mainly due to the increase in motor vehicle financing, up 24%, the leasing industry being positively influenced by the higher demand for new cars that advanced by 17% in the first three quarters of the year, but also for used ones that rose by 70%. The financing for light vehicles rose by 27%, while for agricultural equipment it advanced 48%, and that for real estate went up by 54%.AGERPRES .
