Romania and France share not only strategic interests but also deep cultural and human ties, supported by the large Romanian community in France, an essential bridge between our societies, Minister of Finance Alexandru Nazare said on Wednesday on his Facebook page.

The minister of Finance participated in a working lunch hosted by President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron, on the occasion of President Nicusor Dan's official visit to France.

'The discussions reconfirmed the strength of the strategic relationship between Romania and France, a relationship based on trust, cooperation and shared security and development objectives. From the perspective of the Ministry of Finance, the dialogue also covered the economic component of our partnership, strengthening mutual investment and development opportunities in strategic sectors,' Nazare said.

According to him, the defence industry, supported also through European instruments such as the SAFE programme, is a clear example of a field with shared potential for growth.

'We also discussed the long-term economic partnership, including through modern financing mechanisms and public-private partnerships that can support major infrastructure and public service projects. Romania and France share not only strategic interests but also deep cultural and human ties, supported by the large Romanian community in France, an essential bridge between our societies,' the minister of Finance added.
