A fire broke out in the port of Constanta, on the night between Tuesday to Wednesday, at a ship loading facility in Dana (Berth) 80, with firefighters intervening for approximately four hours, no casualties being recorded in the end.
According to the Dobrogea Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), the fire was extinguished around 3:00 am and the conveyor belt and two crane filters burned.
Firefighters were requested to intervene to extinguish a fire at a ship loading facility, in Dana 80 of the port of Constanta, the Comvex terminal, with three fire trucks, a ladder truck, a platform truck, a multiple casualty transport truck and a SMURD crew being mobilised on the scene.
"The fire broke out in the electrical installation of the crane used for transshipment onto the ship. (...) At this moment, work is being carried out at height (over 15 metres) to extinguish the fire that broke out in a filter on the conveyor belt. At the time of the fire, the loading installation was not functional," representatives of the ISU Dobrogea reported during the intervention.
The fire was extinguished around 3:00 am, after an intervention of about four hours.
