The first regional electric train manufactured by Polish rolling stock producer PESA arrived in Romania on Sunday, as part of a batch of 62 trains for regional and suburban service contracted by the Romanian Railway Reform Authority (ARF) in January 2024.
"This remarkable event comes to crown the effort of a team, which over time has included representatives of the Directorate-General for European Transport Programs and the Railway Transport Directorate, the Transport Ministry, experts from EIB's Passa initiative and from the DT Global iDevice Europe SL - MC Mobility Consultants GmbH Association, as well as members of the project team of the Railway Reform Authority. Also, an important role in this achievement was played by PESA, the leader of the Polish rolling stock production market, which complied with the contractual provisions on the delivery deadlines of the first train, for testing and approval operations to be carried out," ARF wrote on Facebook.
According to the cited source, the short-distance electric train can be viewed at the Railway Operations & Rolling Stock Conference organized by the Railway Club in Oradea on May 21 - 22.
The train will be put on display on Thursday, May 22, 2025, starting at 10:00 at the Episcopia Bihor Intermodal Terminal, near this railway station.
