The fiscal measures and those through which the Government reduces its expenses will start to produce results in six to seven months, the Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Radu Miruta told on Wednesday the XXXII edition of the Top Companies in Bucharest, organized by the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB).

"These measures that collect debts to the state budget - and these are large and there are many and they are uncollected - and the measures by which the Government reduces its expenses begin to produce results, with greater inertia, in six to seven months, and the Government, for reasons that there is no point in bringing up, was in a situation where it needed money the next day. It was an attempt to form a partnership with those who bear the burden of this country", explained the minister.

The minister specified that, at the national level, what is happening in Bucharest is relevant, given that 30% of Romania's GDP is generated by the Bucharest-Ilfov area.

He mentioned that the Government is concerned about what is happening to the business milieu from a fiscal point of view.

"At the government level, we are concerned that fiscal-budgetary measures take into account two realities. A reality of a very large deficit, which means very expensive loans, and which, at a certain point, if no measures were taken, risked leading to job losses and the suffocation of the entire activity. However, we must also take into account another reality, namely that you cannot put on the shoulders of those who contribute more than they can carry. In this attempt to keep the ship afloat, there is a risk of drowning those who row. It is a balance that the Government is simply trying to balance," the minister of economy also declared.

He said that he is concerned with correctly managing the relationship with the business environment. "I am very concerned that at the Ministry of Economy we manage a mechanism through which you can carry out your activity correctly. We must put an end to those preferences, we must put an end to the methods by which someone calls a minister and solves their problem faster. We must put an end to the specifications made with dedication. We must put an end to the results of a fair competition after which the same few companies win. We must put an end to signing work acceptances with our eyes closed and our heads down, without the things having been delivered. If we manage to do these things, we will have something to gain", said Minister Miruta.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest organized on Wednesday, in the Carol I Hall, the XXXII edition of the Top Companies in Bucharest and awarded 7,567 companies, an increase of 2% compared to the previous edition.
