Folklore ensembles from six countries, including Romania, will be present at the 26th edition of the International Folklore Festival "Ceahlaul", an event that will take place over August 6-10, in Piatra-Neamt, Roman and Targu Neamt.
According to the Centre for Culture and Arts "Carmen Saeculare", organizer of the event, ensembles from the Republic of Moldova, Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia and North Macedonia were invited to the festival.
"Respecting the itinerant nature of the event founded in 1991, at the initiative of professor Constantin Horia Alupului-Rus (the director at the time of the County Centre for the Preservation, Promotion and Valorization of Neamt Folk Creation), the organizers offer the local public and tourists visiting the Neamt Region a series of four complex artistic events held in three localities of the county: Piatra-Neamt, Roman and Targu Neamt," a press release from the centre states.
The festival will open on August 7, in the municipality of Piatra-Neamt, with the parade of the costumes and the songs, which will begin at 6:00 pm., followed an hour later by a programme of traditional dances presented by invited ensembles.
In Roman, the show will take place on August 8, while in Targu Neamt it will take place on August 9.
The closing event will take place on August 10, on the Plateau of the Royal Court in Piatra-Neamt, with an extraordinary recital offered by Viorica Macovei and Robert Tarnaveanu.
