Former Minister of Tourism, Elena Udrea, was released on parole on Thursday from Targsor Penitentiary, on which occasion she declared that she does not intend to enter politics again.

"Thinking about my experience, it no longer crosses my mind. To make a joke, seeing who is in politics today, the thought almost crossed my mind, but that was just a joke. I want to take care of my child, my family," Elena Udrea said upon leaving the prison.

She also said that she wants to raise her daughter in Romania.

"I did the 'Bute Gala' with pride. I wanted, and maybe this is a sin and pride is certainly a sin, I wanted to show that what no one can do, what no one has been able to do in Romania, namely to bring Bute to box, Lucian Bute, the great champion, to box at his home, in Bucharest, I can do it and I succeeded. If I knew that this was the cost and that I would be away from my child for four years, I would not have done this event again, and I would not do it again from now on," Elena Udrea said.

The Prahova Court decided on Thursday that Elena Udrea be conditionally released from the Targsor Penitentiary.
