Former Minister of Transport Alexandru-Razvan Cuc was detained on Tuesday by prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), in a case investigating crimes of bribery and complicity in bribery, judicial sources told AGERPRES.

Anticorruption prosecutors carried out searches in Bucharest and Ilfov County on Tuesday, in a case investigating crimes committed this year.

"Prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate - Section for Combating Corruption Crimes are conducting investigations into a criminal case targeting suspicions regarding the commission, during 2025, of corruption crimes by individuals without special status," the DNA stated.

Judicial sources told AGERPRES that raids took place both at the residence of Alexandru-Razvan Cuc and at that of a businessman, and that bribery and complicity in bribery crimes were being investigated.

According to the same sources, the value of the bribe in this case would be 6% of a framework contract worth 23 million lei.
