ForMin meetings with Dutch, Ukrainean counterparts

Foreign Affairs Minister Emil Hurezeanu had meetings in Munich on Saturday, on the sidelines of the Security Conference, with his Dutch and Ukrainian counterparts.

According to a press release the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) sent to AGERPRES, during the meeting with the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Caspar Veldkamp, the two officials discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, as this year marks 145 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and the Netherlands.

"One priority of the discussion focused on the investigation of the theft of Dacian treasure pieces, which took place last month at the Drents Museum in Assen. The Dutch side reassured that all efforts are being made to recover the items, in close cooperation with the Romanian side," the press release says.

Additionally, Emil Hurezeanu had a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha.

The two had an extensive review of the main topics of the Romanian-Ukrainian political-diplomatic dialogue, including the rights of persons belonging to national minorities, as well as the planned contacts for 2025.

The Romanian minister reaffirmed Romania's support for Ukraine's independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty, stressing the legitimate right of the Ukrainian people to achieve a just and lasting peace with the direct involvement of Ukraine, as well as neighbouring countries that share the same vision. The Ukrainian Foreign minister presented the objectives of the authorities in Kyiv in this regard, according to MAE.

Also, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the Romanian Foreign Affairs minister had meetings with the Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, with whom he discussed the security context in the Middle East, focusing on the situation in Gaza and developments in Syria. He also met with the Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Filipino counterpart Enrique Manalo, and the Serbian counterpart Marko Djuric.
