ForMin Odobescu welcomes Dutch ambassador van Ees, emphasises consistency of Dutch investment in Romania
Romania's Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu on Tuesday welcomed Dutch ambassador in Bucharest Roelof S. van Ees, on a good-bye visit, emphasising the consistency of Dutch investment in Romania, told Agerpres.
According to a press statement released by the Foreign Ministry (MAE), current bilateral, regional and European affairs and security issues were discussed at the meeting.
Odobescu thanked van Ees for his mission in Romania, voicing her appreciation for his contribution to strengthening ties between the two countries.
The head of the Romanian diplomacy welcomed the solid agenda of political contacts, the solid component of commercial exchanges, the consistency of Dutch investment in Romania, as well as the contribution of the Netherlands to ensuring Romania's security, including by deploying troops for the local NATO Battle Group.
Odobescu also welcomed the Dutch support for Romania's accession to the Schengen area and presented the efforts of Romanian diplomacy related to the achievement of this essential foreign policy objective.
According to MAE, the determination of Romania and the Netherlands to continue providing support to Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression emerged.
Odobescu also highlighted the added value of the European Union enlargement process and emphasised the importance of supporting Ukraine and Moldova on their European journeys.
Van Ees voiced his appreciation for his collaboration with MAE and Romanian state officials during his mission in Bucharest.
