Four Romanian crews on Thursday progressed to semifinals at the Junior, U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
In the C2 M1000 junior, Eduard Fecu and Darius Vlaicu finished fourth in heat one (03:51.411).
In the C2 M 1000 U23 race, Braulio Nicolae Flores-Mateescu and Georgel-Laurenţiu Baragau ranked fifth (03:50.758) in heat one.
Bianca-Andreea Istratescu was fifth in the heat three of the K1 W 500 junior race (02:01.774).
n C1 M 500, Eduard-Gabriel Gherlan was sixth in heat four (02:05.490).
Of the five semifinals in which the Romanian crews competed on Thursday, Romanians failed to advance to the medal finals.
In the K4 W 500 U23, Romania (Nicoleta Georgiana Belibou, Nadia Haidar, Andreea Botnariuc, Alina-Andreea Popa) finished 8th in the semifinals (01:47.187).
In the C2 M 500 U23 event, Adrian Stepan and Ioan Mihai Rotundu ranked fifth in the first semifinal (01:53.740) and will compete in Final B.
In the K1 W 1000 junior event, Bianca-Andreea Istratescu was fifth in the third semifinal (04:32.074), and will start in Final B.
In the first semifinal of the K2 M 1000 junior event, Bogdan-Andrei Pinzaru and Nicusor-Laurentiu Badoiu finished 8th in the second semifinal (03:38.821) and will compete in Final B.
In the K2 M 1000 U23 event, Alexandru Hanceriuc and Roland Kupas finished 9th in the semifinal (03:41.982).
