Trade unionists from four union confederations are protesting on Wednesday, starting at 11:00 AM, in Victoriei Square, to stop the economic, social, institutional, cultural disaster and the dissolution of the state.

Representatives of the Confederation of Democratic Trade Unions of Romania (CSDR), the "Cartel Alfa" Trade Union Confederation, the CNSLR-Brotherhood and the Meridian National Trade Union Confederation will protest in front of the Government.

The protesters are calling on the Government to apply the constitutional requirements for the development of the country on all levels and ensuring a decent living for all Romanian citizens, regardless of nationality, gender, age, religion, or health status.

"Since the police unions and the Union of Military Personnel on Call (SCMD) are part of the organizing Confederations, we, SCMD, make the following appeal to all our members, of the reservist associations, organized or not in the forum, and of civilian pensioners, to participate without exception. Especially the people of Bucharest, if we want to have a future in a European country called Romania!", the unionists announced.

At the same time, the Columna-Scor Federation initiated a new appeal to the Government to allocate amounts from the reserve fund so that the work performed by the employees can be paid.

"General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Valcea, employees have not been paid since August 2025; DGASPC Maramures, employees have not been paid since August 2025; DGASPC Mehedinti, employees have not been paid their salaries for September 2025; DGASPC Satu Mare, employees have not been paid their salaries for September 2025," the union representatives stated.

According to the cited source, 5,000 employees "have been forgotten by the Government, which refuses to react, and 5,000 employees are no longer insured in the health insurance system."

"There are employees whose pension contributions are not paid. There are employees who, not being paid, due to the indifference of decision-makers, have performed undeclared work for the benefit of institutions. Employees no longer have money to pay their bus ticket to work, or to pay their loans and utilities. In the next period, namely November 8-15, 2025, another 10 General Directorates of Social Assistance and Child Protection will not be able to pay their employees' salaries. The number of employees unpaid by the Romanian state increases to over 10,000. It is not the employees' fault that the Government has not updated the cost standards since 2022. This is the model of a decent Romania, which the current Government wants to promote?! Only the Prime Minister can stop it the agony of thousands of families, forgotten and humiliated by the attitude of decision-makers so far. Mr. Bolojan! Allocate amounts from the reserve fund so that the work performed by employees can be paid, without delay", the unionists' announcement also states.
