The Romanian-French contract regarding the acquisition of corvettes for the endowment of the Romanian Army is "almost ready," and the two countries' governments "hope that it will be signed as soon as possible," the French Ambassador to Bucharest, Laurence Auer, stated on Thursday.
"Negotiations are almost complete, between the two governments, the French and the Romanian one, and we hope to be able to sign the contract as soon as possible. We still have some technicalities to discuss, while everything is clear from the point of view of the two governments in this last stage, discussions ended on that front. The contract is almost ready. It is both parties' strong will to see this concluded," Auer told a press conference.
