Traffic on the Giurgiu (Romania) - Ruse (Bulgaria) Friendship Bridge will be closed in April, not on March 6 and 27 as previously announced.
"The Giurgiu Border Police Territorial Inspectorate (ITPF) informs that the representatives of the Bulgarian authorities responsible for managing the capital repair activities of the bridge between Ruse and Giurgiu have decided to postpone closing the road traffic, which was supposed to happen for 12 hours on March 6-7 and another 12 hours on March 27-28. The decision was made during a technical meeting," a press release from the Giurgiu County Prefect's Office informs on Monday.
According to ITPF Giurgiu, the Bulgarian authorities are considering a possible date for the closure of the Friendship Bridge between March 30 and April 7.
The total closure of the Friendship Bridge for 12-hour periods on March 6 to 7 and on March 27 to 28 was planned for the purpose of carrying out repair work on the Bulgarian side of the bridge. AGERPRES
