The auction "From Pallady to Ghenie" - The Auction of an Iasi Collection, which showcases a selection of reflecting the continuous transformation of Romanian society over the past century and the ongoing cultural dialogue between East and West, will take place on Thursday at 12:00 on the Artmark Live platform.
According to a pres release from Artmark sent to AGERPRES on Monday, the event brings together works by prominent names in modern, post-war, and contemporary art - from Theodor Pallady, Iosif Iser, Dumitru Ghiata, Stefan Popescu, and Max Arnold to Dumitru Gorzo and Adrian Ghenie.
The selection includes portraits, landscapes, urban and everyday scenes that create an authentic panorama of Romanian art, serving as a bridge between generations and artistic sensibilities, the organisers say.
"Highlights include works by the featured artists - such as 'Parisian Landscape' by Theodor Pallady (starting at 3,000 euros) and 'The Lidless Eye' (2017) by Adrian Ghenie (from 10,000 euros) - as well as other masterpieces, such as 'Homage to Brancusi' by Alexandru Ciucurencu (from 3,000 euros), 'The Green Fan' by Iosif Iser (from 2,000 euros) and 'Baba Clontului' (2006) by Dumitru Gorzo (from 800 euros)," the auction house specifies.
The exhibition for this auction is also open at the Artmark Galleries in the Cesianu-Racovita Palace, open daily with free entry from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 20:00.
