Romanian tennis player Gabriela Ruse on Friday advanced to the women's singles semifinals of the Open de Rouen WTA 250 tournament in Rouen, France, prize money EUR 239,212, after defeating France's Jessika Ponchet 6-2 6-2.
It took Ruse, 27, world number 90, an hour and 16 minutes to get the victory.
This was the first meet of Ruse and Ponchet, 28, world number 146 .
The Romanian won EUR 10,410 and 98 WTA singles points, and in the semifinals she will face the winner between top seed Elina Svitolina of Ukraine and Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain. AGERPRES
