The Iasi University of Life Sciences (USV) organises, between April 12-13, the second edition of the Garden Fest by USV Iasi event.
Dean of the Faculty of Horticulture Liviu Irimia said on Wednesday that the festival will take place at USV Arena Iasi and aims to become a reference platform for specialists and enthusiasts in the fields of landscaping, horticulture, sustainability, but also for those interested in urban green space design.
"The event will offer opportunities for networking, exchange of ideas and presentation of the latest innovations in the field. One of the main attractions of the event will be the contest for third-year students majoring in Landscaping at the Faculty of Horticulture Ia?i. Participants will have the opportunity to create temporary urban gardens, thus demonstrating their knowledge and creativity. Service providers in the field of landscaping will be able to create garden exhibitions, offering visitors a real perspective on the most modern solutions for landscaping green spaces. Interactive workshops will also be organised during the festival, where specialists from areas such as landscaping, agriculture and sustainability will also share valuable information and practical advice," said Irimia.
During the festival there will be a fair of products and services, where participants will be able to discover innovative solutions for garden design, including IT technologies applied in landscaping and horticulture.
Also, visitors will find potted flowers, fruit tree seedlings, vine cuttings and flower and vegetable seeds that can be purchased directly from the exhibitors.
A farmers' market will make it possible to taste and purchase fresh products, raised locally by gardeners and small producers.
"The students and teachers of the Faculty of Horticulture at USV Iasi as organisers, dedicate this event to the local community, companies and specialists in the field of landscaping and horticulture, associations and horticultural organisations. We are waiting for all those who are passionate about horticulture with stands of producers, with exhibitions of landscape projects, with stands of producers of flowers and horticultural seedlings. One of the objectives of this edition is directly for the Faculty of Horticulture, to facilitate the meeting of our students with business operators and potential employers in Horticulture and Landscaping, in order to expand the internship and internship locations for students, as well as to strengthen the link between the academic and economic communities," said Irimia.
