The coach of the Farul football team, Gheorghe Hagi, refused the position of coach of the national football team of Romania, transmitting, on Monday, through a press release, that he took the decision as a result of some conditions imposed by the Romanian Football Federation (FRF), but also of the project he started in southeastern Constanta.
"Dear Romanian supporters, following the discussions in the last period, regarding the desire of the Romanian Football Federation to be the new coach of Romanian national team, I would like to specify the following: I have analyzed this possibility in the last few days, because, on the one hand, there were certain conditions of the FRF to be accomplieshed, and on the other hand there is the project that I started at Farul Constanta three years ago, where I want to build a strong club. For this reason I decided that I cannot accept it at this moment, the proposal of the Romanian Football Federation to be the coach of the national team," it is mentioned in the press release published on the official website of the Farul football club.
"It was certainly one of the most difficult decisions I made in my entire career, because the Romanian national team represents the dream of any Romanian technician. I thank everyone who was with me during these days. Go, Romania! Respectfully, Gheorghe Hagi," the press release mentions.
The coach of the Farul Constanta team, Gheorghe Hagi, was on July 24, the first option for the position of coach of the Romanian national team by the Technical Commission of the Romanian Football Federation. From that moment, the FRF leadership discussed with Gheorghe Hagi the conditions for taking over the technical management of the first representative team.
