The government on Thursday approved a decision granting emergency financial aid in agriculture for the sheep/goat farming sector, affected by unfavourable weather phenomena.
The decision provides emergency aid under a support scheme that aims to compensate agricultural producers in the sheep/goat breeding sector in the form of a grant for the economic damage caused by the soil drought in agriculture between September 2023 and August 2024.
The amount provided for the emergency financial support is RON 248 /head of sheep/goats, young females, and is granted for beneficiaries who owned, on August 31, 2024, 50 to 300 head.
Applicants who have a herd of more than 300 such specimens qualify for the emergency financial aid capped at 300 head. The financial resources necessary for the implementation of the scheme are EUR 48 million.
