The government approved at its meeting on Thursday an emergency ordinance amending and supplementing the Emergency Ordinance No. 57/2007 on the regime of protected natural areas, the conservation of natural habitats, wild flora and fauna.
The newly adopted emergency ordinance correctly and fully transposes the Habitats and Birds Directives into national law, the government said in a statement, mentioning that the amendments are intended to resolve the non-conformity issues signalled out by the European Commission in the dialogue with the Romanian authorities, notably the incomplete transposition of the Habitats and Birds Directives through the prior Romanian regulatory acts.
