An emergency ordinance to compensate for losses in the Romanian hospitality industry was adopted at a government meeting on Friday, Ionel Danca, head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister announced on Friday.
"Several draft emergency ordinances and highly anticipated decisions have been adopted in the economic field, especially for those affected by the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, furlough pay has been extended and the short work programme has been made more flexible throughout June 30, 2021. The emergency ordinance to compensate for losses in the hospitality industry was also adopted; it is 20% of the difference between the 2020 and 2019 turnovers," Danca told a news conference at the Government House.
The ordinance on state aid for the hospitality industry was introduced on an additional agenda of the meeting, after it was analysed in a first reading on November 28.
