An emergency ordinance containing measures put forth by the government to mitigate surging prices in energy and natural gas will pass next week, as Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca is urging the relevant ministers to complete legislation to be put up for public debate.
At the beginning of a government meeting on Wednesday, Ciuca mentioned his meeting on Tuesday with energy producers, suppliers and distributors.
"I talked to the energy minister and we are working on the contents of the emergency ordinance that we want to complete by Friday morning. And, in that regard, I am asking the minister of finance, the minister of agriculture, the minister of economy, the minister of entrepreneurship, the justice minister and the transport minister to finalise the contents, so that at the Ministry of Energy and of course with the support of the secretary general, we can finalise this ordinance so that we can make it public by Friday morning, so that next week, before the weekly sitting, we can pass this emergency ordinance," the prime minister said.
