The interim president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, declared on Monday that he hopes that next time more women will enter the competition for ministerial positions.

He was asked why PSD does not have any women in the new government.

"We, unlike others, almost all the others came to the leadership forums and read a list. We had a vote. Other representatives, from what I saw from the other coalition colleagues, came up with a list, it was read and the respective candidacy for the position of minister was approved or not. Yesterday afternoon we had a secret vote and at least in Labor we had Simona (Simona Bucura-Oprescu - editor's note) who almost failed to win the vote, but it was, as I said, a secret vote. I hope that next time more of our colleagues will first of all register for this internal competition, because I have no intention, as long as I lead PSD, to apply any other method than this of having an internal competition, of running for each position, and the one who gets the most votes gets the position." "respectively," Grindeanu said in Parliament.
