Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete announced that he was adamant to refer today the case of the Severe Burn Center of the Floreasca Emergency Clinical Hospital to the Prosecutor's Office, after recent inspections revealed a string of law violations.

"Last week I ordered a new, this time purely administrative control by the Bucharest Public Health Directorate, to look into how this Center was authorized. Today I got the report and I tell you that I almost fell off my chair. The findings are outrageous, which is why tomorrow it will be sent to the Prosecutor's Office, because what is stated there exceeds by far the administrative competence of the Ministry, and because from my point of view there are certain (...) findings that fall into the criminal area. (...) The control body highlighted that what appears in the technical memorandum signed by the former hospital manager does not match the situation on site. (...) For this reason, I am submitting the report of the Control Body, the report of the State Sanitary Inspection and the report of the Bucharest Public Health Directorate to the Prosecutor's Office. I signed the necessary documents today, the report will be sent to the Prosecutor's Office tomorrow,'' the minister declared on Euronews Romania on Tuesday evening.

According to Rogobete, the Floreasca Severe Burn Center should not have been authorized at all.

The minister also announced that all centers in the country that treat severe burn patients will be verified.

He specified that he will strip the Floreasca Hospital's department of the title of Severe Burn Center, demoting it to functional unit for serious burns.
