Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete said that three people who were injured in the explosion that took place on Friday morning in District 5 of the Capital City Bucharest suffered severe burns.
"There are 13 patients hospitalised. Three in the Floreasca Hospital, with severe polytrauma, aged between 56 and 86, two patients in the Bagdasar Hospital, one of whom is 78 years old, with severe burns. At the moment, he is medically and hemodynamically stable. Six patients are hospitalised at the University Hospital, one of whom is intubated, with severe burns, for whom, after stabilisation, if the medical status allows it, a transfer abroad will be requested. Two children were taken to the Grigore Alexandrescu Hospital, aged 15 and 17, one of whom is in critical condition. Three people died. One patient refused hospitalisation at Bagdasar Arseni Hospital and went home," Rogobete told Antena 3 private television broadcaster.
The Minister also said that at the level of the hospitals included in the Emergency Plan, by the crisis cell established at the Ministry of Health, there are 30 ICU beds available, with medical equipment and human resources mobilised.
"If additional victims are found, we can expand this scheme. We are still operating under the White Emergency Plan. It will be deactivated when the searches on the location stop. (...) Human resources have been mobilised according to the White Plan protocol," the Health Minister said.
