The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, stated that for too many years in Romania there has been talk about the private versus public healthcare system, advocating for collaboration between the two systems.
He participated in the launch event of the study "Analysis of economic and operational performance in the health system", carried out by the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies together with the "Regina Maria" Health Network.
"An important part of the reforms that were presented this week, during the Government press conference, are based on the analyses that you have worked on and made available to us precisely so that we can make informed decisions, decisions that are based on figures, on realities, realities that some people know because they unfortunately feel them every day in many healthcare units in Romania," the minister pointed out.
e said that a first project that will bring together the public and private systems concerns population screening.
"For too many years in a row in Romania, there has been talk about the private healthcare system versus the public healthcare system. I believe it is a good time to discuss a single healthcare system, in which the two components, private and public, join hands and continue important partnerships for people's health. The first partnership of this kind will hopefully be launched this fall and will focus especially on the screening area, in which both the infrastructure in private units and the infrastructure in public units will be used to the fullest in order to help as many patients as possible with early diagnoses," said Rogobete.
