The Capital City Hall kicks off the winter holidays on Saturday, with the opening of the Christmas Fair in Constitution Square.

Also on Saturday, the holiday lights will be turned on and the Bucharest Downtown Christmas Market will begin in University Square, according to a press release sent on Wednesday by the PMB.

Thus, on Saturday, starting at 5:00 PM, the 18th edition of the Christmas Fair in Constitution Square opens, the "biggest event" in Romania dedicated to the winter holidays, organized by the City Hall of the Capital, through CREART, Agerpres informs.

"A true cultural and tourist landmark, the fair brings together the Bucharest community and visitors from all over the world, in a festive setting that celebrates the tradition and spirit of Christmas. For 30 days, the Bucharest Christmas Fair welcomes its audience with the tallest ecological Christmas tree in the country, 'Santa's House', a Ferris wheel, a two-story carousel, theater shows and many attractions for children," PMB specifies.

The fair will feature over 120 stalls selling culinary delights and artisanal products. The artistic program will complement the atmosphere in Constitution Square, with performances of customs and traditions, carols and concerts.

Also on Saturday, from 6:00 PM, the festive lighting in the Capital will be turned on from Constitution Square.

"From the stage of the Bucharest Christmas Fair, the Radio Children's Choir, the 'Lumini Sonore' Orchestra with Ozana Barabancea, Theo Rose and Smiley will open the festive season," the quoted source mentions.

On November 30, Madalina Lupu & Band, Shift, Lora and Connect-R will take the stage in Constitution Square.

On National Day, December 1, starting at 12:00, children are expected at interactive workshops in Santa's House. The evening will be dedicated to Romanian traditions. The National Orchestra "Valahia", under the baton of conductor Marius Zorilă, will accompany renowned soloists in a folklore show, and from 21:00, Fuego will conclude the special program dedicated to Romania Day.

On November 29, the Municipality, through CREART, in partnership with FoodTruck Festival, opens the second Christmas fair of the Capital, in University Square.

"For 30 days, Kilometer 0 of the city becomes a vibrant space, where the festive spirit intertwines with urban dynamism. Food trucks with international dishes, urban mixes, a carousel, a Christmas tree and light installations will outline the atmosphere of a metropolis in full celebration. Between November 29 and December 28, Bucharest is the Capital of Winter Holidays, the place where tradition and modernity meet, and the magic of Christmas is experienced together. Admission is free," informs PMB.
