The reliquary containing the Holy Relics of Saint Demetrius the New, Protector of Bucharest, will be brought to the National Cathedral on Wednesday evening as of 18:30, where it will be placed for veneration in the Holy Altar, the Romanian Patriarchate announced.
"The reliquary with the Holy Relics of Saint Demetrius the New will remain here until the end of the veneration period and the pilgrims' passage through the Holy Altar of the National Cathedral, namely until Wednesday, 5 November 2025, at 24:00, after which it will be returned to the Patriarchal Cathedral dedicated to Saints Constantine and Helen, on the Patriarchate Hill," a release issued by the Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate informs.
The programme for veneration and passage through the Holy Altar of the National Cathedral has been extended, with the new deadline set for Wednesday, 5 November, until midnight. The Patriarchate urges pilgrims to avoid excessive crowding in the waiting queue.
