The meeting took place in the context of the initiative of the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Victor Negrescu, aimed at supporting the inter-institutional dialogue on the establishment of a national AI Factory - a strategic infrastructure designed to support the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in various areas of public and economic interest, through integration into the HPC network, the cited source specifies.

"Romania has the opportunity to become an active player in the European network of AI Factories, contributing to the strengthening of European capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence. It is encouraging to observe a convergence of expertise, interest and institutional involvement around this approach, which has the potential to support Romania's digital transition in a strategic and sustainable way," said Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest.

At the same time, Romania's potential to become a relevant player in the European AI network by capitalizing on local expertise and existing capacities, was emphasized.
