Participants at the Sumer Well festival will be greeted with educational messages aimed at helping young people protect themselves effectively in the digital environment, at the SigurantaOnline stand set up by the Romanian Police.
"During the festival, participants will discover clear educational messages, adapted to the pace and sensitivities of young people, with essential advice to protect themselves in the digital environment: avoiding accessing unverified links, keeping passwords confidential, recommending keeping login passwords to Internet/Mobile Banking applications secret, recognizing fake emails that appear to come from banks or authorities, and avoiding payments on public, unsafe Wi-Fi networks," informs a press release from the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police (IGPR) sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
The national cybercrime prevention project #SigurantaOnline, initiated by the Romanian Police, the National Directorate of Cybersecurity and the Romanian Association of Banks, is present at Summer Well, with the support of Orange Romania, between August 8-10, with a set of educational messages aimed at helping young people to effectively protect themselves in the digital environment.
With the development of technology, online frauds, such as phishing (false messages that appear to come from the bank requesting sensitive data), spoofing (impersonating a bank representative or an authority through phone calls) or vishing (voice cloning), are becoming increasingly sophisticated.
The initiators of the #OnlineSafety Project aim, through clear and accessible messages, to inform and increase citizens' vigilance towards these real threats.
"At the #SiguranţaOnline stand, located in the Orange area of the festival, participants will discover a space where digital safety combines with technology and creativity. In addition to the essential messages for responsible online behavior, participants will be able to test an interactive experience: an AI photo booth that generates personalized, artistically stylized portraits in real time, projected on a screen visible to all", shows the quoted source. The approach represents a mix of technology, digital knowledge and entertainment - a memorable experience that transforms a simple selfie into a festival presence.
"The national cybercrime prevention project #SiguranţaOnline is intended to offer the best cybersecurity practices, by accessing the sigurantaonline.ro platform, to avoid users in Romania becoming victims of cyber fraud, and now it brings its messages directly to the festival space, to reach as close as possible to a young audience, in a natural and relevant way," specifies IGPR.
