Supporting and protecting small and medium-sized enterprises is a strategic priority for a stable and sustainable economy in the region, requiring the promotion of a structured and balanced social dialogue that supports the interests of both employers and employees, said Sterica Fudulea, first vice president of IMM Romania.
IMM Romania organized on Thursday, June 19, 2025, together with IMM Timis, the event in the West region, under the auspices of: "IMM Romania - Supporting SMEs through Social Dialogue."
During the event, discussions focused on the importance of social dialogue and increasing the involvement of business representatives in the development of socio-economic policies that influence the activities of employees and employers.
Thus, with over 100 participants in attendance, the event focused on two main themes: developing social dialogue for a sustainable economy and the role of social dialogue in the relationship between entrepreneurs and authorities.
During the debates, the need to increase the affiliation of entrepreneurs to employers' organizations was emphasized in order to strengthen their activities, with an emphasis on representing the interests of entrepreneurs in their relationship with local public authorities.
"Supporting and protecting small and medium-sized enterprises is a strategic priority for a stable and sustainable economy in the region. It is necessary to promote a structured and balanced social dialogue that supports the interests of both employers and employees. In this context, entrepreneurs in the Western region must be supported by tailored policies that respond to the challenges of the local environment in order to ensure long-term development and competitiveness," said Sterica Fudulea, first vice president of IMM Romania.
Corina Macri, President of Horetim, representative of IMM Timis, mentioned that SMEs in Timis represent the foundation of the local economy, and supporting them through continuous social dialogue is essential for stimulating sustainable economic growth in the face of current challenges.
"Only through real cooperation between authorities and the private sector can we build a climate conducive to investment that will contribute to the sustainable development of the Western region," said Corina Macri.
At the same time, Mircea Purcaru, president of Romanian Federation of Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (FRIMM) West, mentioned that real bridges need to be built between the business community and public authorities so that social dialogue becomes a permanent working tool geared toward economic development.
