Immigration police officers carried out 20 escorted removal missions in October, following which 28 foreign citizens were expelled from Romania.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, escorted removal measures are implemented by specialized personnel of the General Inspectorate for Immigration and consist of accompanying the person to the state border crossing point or, as the case may be, to the country of origin, transit or destination.
Between October 1 and 31, 28 foreigners were taken to the state border crossing points for the implementation of return measures.
The main reasons that determined these measures were the failure to comply with the return decision, the fraudulent crossing or attempted fraudulent crossing of the state border, the cited source shows.
Most of the removed citizens, nine people, come from Nepal.
The General Inspectorate for Immigration continues to carry out, in cooperation with partner institutions, firm actions to ensure compliance with the legislation regarding the regime of foreigners and maintain a climate of public safety on Romanian territory, the IGI specifies.
