Iranian artist Avin Ahmadi will perform the concert "A Western-Eastern Dream: Qayeq" on Thursday at the Museum of Immersive New Art (MINA) in the capital, starting at 19:30 - an event where 'Persian tradition and Western jazz improvisation meet in a captivating sonic dialogue.'
'The Iranian artist's solo project Qayeq (oud, vocals) offers a musical journey in which her own compositions intertwine with reinterpretations of traditional Persian songs. Each piece becomes a universe of emotion and poetry, carrying listeners like a raft (qayeq) on a calm river, through waves of sound and feeling. The recital is part of the Classix Concerts series - a project that brings audiences sonic experiences blending tradition and innovation, and promotes dialogue between cultures and diverse forms of artistic expression,' according to a press release MINA sent to AGERPRES.
Qayeq - a term which means 'raft' in Persian - presents a poetic journey between East and West, a musical exploration of introspection and freedom, signed by an artist who subtly combines cultural roots with contemporary language, the source mentions.
The concert programme includes: The Edges, Fowj Fowj, Dopelk, Fairy, May, Horses and Improvisation.
The artist's next performance will take place on Friday at 19:30, in the Aula of the 'Mihai Eminescu' Central University Library in Iasi.
