President Klaus Iohannis signed on Friday the decree accrediting Iulian Buga as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Singapore, with the residence in Singapore, and as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Romania to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea.

Klaus Iohannis also signed decrees regarding the termination of service relations for Police Chief Commissioner Bute Liviu and Police Commissioner Niculescu Valentin-Paul from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, both of whom will retire on December 30, according to a statement from the Presidential Administration.

Additionally, the president promulgated the law for the ratification of the Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, concluded in Montego Bay on December 10, 1982, regarding the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction. The agreement was adopted in New York on June 19, 2023, and signed by Romania in New York on September 20, the source mentions.

Furthermore, decrees were signed regarding the retirement of judges: Tatar Calin from the Cluj-Napoca Court, Birau Monica from the Mehedinti Tribunal, Barbuta Bogdan-Ilarion-Costica from the Radauti Court, Logigan Anca from the Suceava Tribunal, Popescu Clara-Daniela from the Mehedinti Tribunal, Zup Mihaela from the Brasov Court of Appeal, and Chetrone Lucian from the Galati Court of Appeal.

As a result of their retirement, prosecutors Gherman Ionel-Marian (Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Tribunal), Opriscan Sanda-Elena (Prosecutor's Office attached to the Avrig Court), Muresan Ioan (Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism - Alba Iulia Territorial Service), Pop Marinela (Prosecutor's Office attached to the Satu Mare Tribunal), Alexandru Oana (Prosecutor's Office attached to the Prahova Tribunal), and Sofan Dumitru (Prosecutor's Office attached to the Hunedoara Tribunal) will also be relieved of their duties.
