New orders in the manufacturing industry advanced 11.3 percent in nominal terms between January - September 2017 compared with the similar period of the previous year, shows data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The advance is the result of growth in the industry of durables (+27.7 pct), intermediary goods (+15.7 pct), capital goods (+9.1 pct) and FMCG (+3.5pct).
In a year-on-year comparison, new orders in the manufacturing industry were up 5.1 percent this September mainly due to the increase in the industry of durables (+68.9 percent) and the industry of intermediate goods (+15.1 percent). Conversely, the capital goods industry and the intermediate goods industry dropped 2.3 pct and 0.9 pct, respectively.
New orders in the processing industry were 10 percent up this September from the previous month, mainly due to the advance seen in the industry of durables (+21.5 pct), FMCG (+10.4 pct), intermediate goods (+10 pct) and capital goods (+9 pct). AGERPRES .
