Job applications hit a year-to-date high of more than one million this September, by about 10 percent more compared to September 2022, recruitment platform eJobs said.
14.3 percent of the applications were for remote openings, in line with this year's average, as well as with the numbers of September last year. 84.3 percent were for traditional jobs, which require daily presence at the office, and only 1.4 percent targeted jobs outside the country, agerpres reports.
Retail was the field that received the most applications (325,000), followed by the call center / BPO sector (152,000), services (128,000), IT / telecom (105,000), finance / banking (85,000), transport / logistics (79,000), tourism (75,000), and the food industry (72,000).
The most active candidates are those in the 25 - 35 age category, who filed 370,000 applications. Young people aged 18 to 24 follow closely with 350,000 applications. Job seekers in the 36 - 45 age category filed approximately 175,000 applications, while the 45+ category remains a relatively shy participant in the labor market, with the number of applications slightly exceeding 100,000.
As far as the career level is concerned, most candidates fall into the entry level pool (0-2 years of experience), followed by mid-level (2-5 years of experience). Candidates in their first job, seniors (over 5 years of experience) and managers were the most reluctant to look for a new job.
Jobs in Bucharest and Ilfov were the most sought-after this September, collecting more than 630,000 applications, followed by job openings in Cluj-Napoca and remote ones, with over 142,000 applications.
Launched in 1999, eJobs is the first recruitment platform in Romania and the leader of the local market. Since 2012, it is part of the Zurich-based international media group Ringier AG.
