A KLM-operated Airbus A330 en route from Kuwait City to Amsterdam with 298 passengers on board asked on Tuesday morning at 7:39 hrs for permission to make an emergency landing for technical reasons on the 'Henri Coanda' International Airport of Bucharest.
The plane safely touched down at 7:55, the National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB) said in a release to agerpres.
CNAB mentioned that the cause of the disruption was excessive oil consumption at an engine. The rapid response team was deployed as per standard procedures to safely take the passengers off the plane.
