Romania is putting in all the efforts to advance as much as possible on the Social Security System Coordination File, in the context of some divergent elements between the stance of the European Parliament and that of the Council of the European Union, and, taking into account the short interval for negotiations, giving that the elections to the European Parliament are taking place in spring, Labour and Social Justice Minister Marius Budai stated on Tuesday in Strasbourg, partitive agerpres.ro.

According to a release of the relevant ministry, sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, the Labour Minister carried out bilateral meetings in Strasbourg with members of the European Parliament regarding the priorities of the employment and social affairs file of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

On the occasion of the working visit that Romania's Prime Minister Viorica Dancila paid to Strasbourg, in view of presenting the priorities of the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council in the plenary sitting of the European Parliament, Labour and Social Justice Minister Marius Budai carried out three bilateral meetings with MEP and Vice-President of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) Maria Joao Rodrigues, Rapporteur on Social Security System Coordination File (revision of Regulations No.883/2004 and No.987/2009) Guillaume Balas, both members of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs of the European Parliament and Iratxe Garcia Perez, who is a member of the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality.

Minister Budai presented Romania's priorities to the two officials of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs during the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU, correlated with the relevant legislative files under negotiation.
