The Minister of Labour, Simona Bucura-Oprescu, assures the mayors that they will have strong support for the development of social services for those in need in the institution she leads, according to a post on the institution's Facebook page.
The Minister of Labor was in Vaslui county on Friday, where he visited several social assistance centers.
"It is about a series of objectives in the Tutova commune, gateway to the county where people care for each other - the Social Services Complex "Sf. Parascheva" (day center, social canteen and home care), a home for the elderly, sheltered housing - and from Bârlad ("Elena Farago" Center for the Care of the Elderly)," the ministry states, Agerpres informs.
The minister also went to a permanent center that provides medical services for about 25,000 people, including from Galati
"I saw here, in Tutova, social services that represent a model of good practices. Good things can be done thanks to the involvement of the local administration and the collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity, which provides part of the funds, but also investment projects. I wish there were social centers like these in Romania. I congratulate Mayor Ion Corciova for what he has achieved. I assure all the mayors that they will have them in MMSS as well I personally have a strong support for the development of social services that bring a better life for those in need," the minister added.
A part of the Tutova community benefits from a hot meal every day, and the elderly can take part in specific activities in occupational workshops and can benefit from medical services, therapy and recovery, the quoted source states.
Minister Simona Bucura-Oprescu was accompanied in Vaslui by Victoria Stoiciu, state adviser at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, by Adrian Solomon, president of the Committee for Labor and Social Protection in the Chamber of Deputies, by Ciprian Trifan, president of the Vaslui County Council, by Dumitru Boros the mayor of Barlad municipality, and by Ion Corciova, the mayor of Tutova commune.
