Every child has the right to go to school, to learn and to dream of a better future, is the conclusion of a meeting between the Minister of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, Simona Bucura Oprescu, and the UNICEF representative in Romania, Anna Riatti, which took place on Friday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor.

According to a post on the institution's Facebook account, through dedicated programs, vulnerable children who often face a lack of resources and discrimination can have a chance at a decent life.

"Through free early childhood education and care services, quality education, adequate housing conditions, free medical care services, healthy nutrition, every child must have the chance to develop, learn and assert themselves professionally and vocationally. Every child matters! And the child born into poverty and the child born with disabilities matter and the abandoned child matters! Every one of our children matters and for that we must do everything we can!", declared Simona Bucura Oprescu.

The Ministry of Labor and UNICEF have a solid partnership, and the discussions focused on the priorities for a joint collaboration between the ministry and UNICEF in 2025.

"European financing of strategic projects for the development of Romania, through which 2000 rural communities in our country will benefit from essential social services, and this means access to education, social protection and health services, but also "Strengthening the capacity to respond to violence against children", represent opportunities through which the collaboration at the technical level between the ministry and UNICEF can materialize in actions that will lead to the reduction of the degree of social exclusion for vulnerable groups", shows the information of the ministry.

The implementation of the Child Guarantee will help Romania to reduce social exclusion and child poverty, ensuring children access to essential services. UNICEF expressed its openness for close collaboration, so that Romania can reduce the number of children at risk of poverty or social exclusion by at least 500,000 by 2030, significantly contributing to the European Union's overall objective of 5 million children.
