Leaders of the ruling coalition on Wednesday afternoon met at the Government House to discuss and finalise steps to establish their electoral alliance for this year's presidential election.

Attending the meeting were Social Democratic Party (PSD) national leader Marcel Ciolacu; interim National Liberal Party (PNL) national chairman Catalin Predoiu; Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) minister Cseke Attila; PSD Secretary General Paul Stanescu; PNL First Deputy Chair Adrian Vetea, as well as Crin Antonescu, the presidential candidate supported by the PSD, PNL, UDMR alliance.

According to political sources, the Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu, whose presence at the coalition talks had been announced by the prime minister, did not participate because he had met Ciolacu on Tuesday at the Government House in the context of his recent participation in the Munich Security Conference.
