The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) invites several political formations - the People's Movement Party (PMP), the Christian Democratic National Peasants' Party (PNTCD), the Right Alternative, the Coalition for Nation -, but also the civil society to join its initiative regarding the establishment of the Conservative Pole.
According to a letter sent, on Friday, by deputy George Simion, co-chair of AUR, the Conservative Pole has as values and principles "the liberty and uniqueness of the person, the Christian moral and faith, family, tradition and culture - as expressions of the national identity and dignity -, private property, justice, meritocracy, rule of law as a guarantee of authentic democracy, the reunification of the nation."
"Today, the political level in Romania is characterized by a strong doctrinal and ideological confusion. The absence of a consistent right-wing offer is the main cause of the systemic crisis of the country. The socialist and "liberal" governments of the past three decades bear the entire responsibility for this moral, economic, and social situation of Romania. The restoration of a coalition of the USL 2.0 type [e.n. - The Social-Liberal Union - USL, was a government coalition formed by the Social Democratic Party - PSD and the National Liberal Party - PNL between 2011 and 2014] is only an improvised and noxious solution to govern, which will perpetuate the interests of the same predatory gang that is rotating in power for over 30 years. This situation must in fact be urgently overcome! The solution can only come through the establishment of a veritable right-wing alternative. With this purpose we initiate the establishment of the Conservative Pole. We invite you to identify together the joint objectives and ways of action, having as a base conservative values and principles: the liberty and uniqueness of the person, the Christian moral and faith, family, tradition and culture - as expressions of the national identity and dignity -, private property, justice, meritocracy, rule of law as a guarantee of authentic democracy, the reunification of the nation," the letter shows.
AUR expresses its conviction that the Conservative Pole will offer to Romanians "the real alternative of normality and the chance of a strong Romania."
"With firmness and wisdom, with realism in the nation and country, we know that together we are able to coagulate a redoubtable force that would govern, serving faithfully the national interest and the nation's prosperity. Romania needs today, more than ever, courageous and hard-working political figures," according to the quoted source.
In what regards the collaboration of AUR with PMP, Simion stated for AGERPRES that his party does not wish to cooperate in the future government with a PMP "led by [Eugen] Tomac".
"The public should know that AUR will make alliances only with Romanians and, besides this, we don't want to cooperate with a PMP in the future government - a PMP led by Tomac," said Simion, Agerpres informs.
