Five polling agencies have been accredited by the Municipal Electoral Bureau to conduct exit polls during the local by-election for the position of Bucharest general mayor.
According to the Bureau, the accredited agencies are: the Urban and Regional Sociology Center (CURS), The Center for International Research and Analyses SRL, Avangarde Group for Socio-Behavioral Studies, IIC Bio-Trade Consulting SRL, and ARA Public Opinion SRL.
According to the decision of the Municipal Electoral Bureau, poll operators are allowed, on the basis of accreditation, within the 500-meter protection zone around polling stations, but not inside the premises.
Poll operators must not disturb public order or interfere in any way with the organization or conduct of the elections. Accreditation is also valid in copy form.
Between the end of the electoral campaign and the close of voting, the publication of opinion polls by any means is prohibited.
On election day, the publication of exit polls is forbidden before the close of voting.
