The Lufthansa LH1654 Munich-Bucharest flight headed to Sofia, Bulgaria instead of touching down in Bucharest's Henri Coanda int'l airport due to unfavourable weather, say the officials of the Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB).
The flight was meant to land on Bucharest's airport at local hour 18:05.
The national forecaster ANM issued a nowcasting bad weather Code Orange of strong winds turning into storms, frequent lightning, average hail and rain showers for Ilfov County, including Henri Coanda airport, valid until 19:30 hrs. Under these circumstances, the commanders of some aircraft decided to postpone the take-off, sources within the CNAB told AGERPRES.
