Romania's Ministry of National Defence (MApN) informed that, overnight from Monday to Tuesday, the radar surveillance system detected two aerial targets moving in the Ukrainian airspace, near the river border with Romania.
Two F-18 aircraft of the Spanish Air and Space Force, conducting Enhanced Air Policing Service, took off from the 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, according to a MApN release.
The National Military Command Center notified the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations (IGSU) regarding the implementation of population alert measures in northern and eastern part of Tulcea county, and a RO-Alert message was sent at 02:20.
No incursions into the national airspace were detected.
The air alert ceased at 03:14.
