Fifteen refugees from Ukraine's Mariupol and Odessa areas are being sheltered since Sunday night at the social housing complex of the 'St. Filofteia' Parish in Braila.
"The Ukrainian citizens who arrived in Braila are from the areas of Mariupol and Odessa and were received with all the love and openness by the priests and volunteers of the 'St. Filofteia' Parish in Braila, where they are offered housing and three meals a day at the social canteen. Some of them are just in transit through Romania, but they need help because they are tired, scared by the relentless war and separated from some of their family members. Aid from this parish is precious for these hard tried fellow humans and a ray of light proving that they are not alone, and that the humanity and love of the Romanian people transcends any border," reads a release of the Lower Danube Archdiocese.
Aid offered in recent days by the Lower Danube Archdiocese to Ukraine refugees amounts to over 100,000 RON.
