The painting "Masti"/"Masks" by Ion Tuculescu was sold for 74,000 euros on Tuesday evening, at the auction of the art collection of the family of philosopher Ioan Dragan, organized by the Artmark house at the Cesianu-Racovita Palace.
The painting was the highest-priced lot of the session, being put up for sale at an estimated amount of 40,000-60,000 euros.
Among the works awarded at high prices were also "Natura moarta cu flori si carti"/"Still Life with Flowers and Books" by Alexandru Ciucurencu, sold for 10,000 euros and "Noua speranta 4"/"New Hope 4" by Roman Tolici, sold for 26,000 euros.
Also, two bronze sculptures by Salvador Dali were sold on the same occasion - "The Minotaurs" and "Time in the Fourth Dimension", for 9,000 euros and 4,000 euros, respectively.
Artmark is organizing the auction of two small family collections - Freda Trybalski and General Petre Motiu - on Wednesday.
